The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate change Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo has enjoined Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as Private Organisations to imbibe the culture of Environmental sanitation exercise especially at the end of every Friday of the month as set aside by the government of Kano State every end of the month on Friday is the Sanitation exercise for Government offices, Market places, Motor parks among others While on Saturday is the general sanitation for every one from 7am to 10:am within Kano State
A Statement issued and made available to iggnews by the information officer of the ministry of environment Malan Rabiu Umar Isah explained that
The Commissioner disclosed this today while supervising some government agencies for this Friday end of month Sanitation exercise at Radio Kano, Kano State Teachers Board and Kano Fire Service.
Commending on the level of satisfaction by the sanitary of this premises, the commissioner expressed delight at Radio Kano for finding their environment and toiletries very clean, and urged Teachers Board and Kano Fire Service to step up efforts next time to ensure tidy environment for the health wise of themselves and other visitors, he emphasized.
He therefore, used the opportunity to appeal to the teeming people of Kano State to continue to support government policies and programmes especially on environment sector to mitigate the effects of climate change and restore the ecosystem in the state.
Earlier The Managing Director of Radio Kano Alh. Hisham Habib commended the commissioner for identifying the Radio Kano as one of the places for his supervision and pledged to continue to partner with the ministry of environment to achieved uptimum results.
