*Kano Commences Fumigation and Vector Control across all Boarding Schools*



In its efforts to ensure safe and healthy environment especially to student's at boarding schools and Tsangaya Qur'anic school's,  Kano State Government has embark on a massive fumigation exercise and Vector Control across all the boarding schools in the state, with a view to reduce the devastating effects of mosquitoes spread which causes malaria parasite, prevent spread of insecticide, rodents and other reptile.

The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Rt Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo launched the fumigation exercise at Government Technical college Ungogo, as part of effort in reducing the spread of communicable diseases, Garo stressed.




Garo said the present administration of governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has placed top most priority attention to the environment and climate change sector, ."it's only when you have good and habitable environment the health condition of the teeming populaces would be protected" Garo pointed out.

The Commissioner further explained that, the exercise would be conducted every year in all boarding schools, Tsangaya and Qur'anic school's in order  to protect our innocent children from mosquitoes bite, insects and other reptile's.

He enjoined people in the state to continue to do the needful by way of complementing government concerted effort to ensure clean and healthy environment devoid of waste, he said his ministry is always ready to accommodate any complain or suggestions and collaborate with general public for speedy development.

Earlier,  the Executive Secretary of Science and Technical School Board, represented by the Director physical planning Alh. Garba Ahmed expressed satisfaction for the government intervention at this direction which he said would go alone way in mitigating the spread of insecticide, rodents, mosquitoes and other reptile's within the school compound, and would certainly boost the academic performance of students by way of being healthier.

The Principal of the school Malan Mika'ilu Usaini  described the fumigation and Vector Control as timely, especially now that we are at the period of raining season, he said this would go alone way in reducing the number of sickness among the students and the environment would be conducive for teaching and learning he stressed.
