KNSG Vows to Collaborate with relevant bodies to improve Environment Sector*

Kano State Government say's it's committed and ready to collaborate and partner with relevant organization's towards improving the environment sector in the state.

The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Rt Hon Nasiru Sule Garo made the assertion today while receiving National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (Nesrea) who paid him a courtesy visit today in his office.

The Commissioner who expressed delight for the visit described the agency as a strong stakeholder and partner in progress to the environmental issues.

Garo who noted the support and contribution of Nesrea both at federal and state level asked for cross fertilization of ideas between the ministry and the agency, being an institutional mechanism for environmental protection and sustainable development in Nigeria.

He enjoined them not to hesitate to come to the ministry for seamless collaboration and engagement for all environmental laws, guidelines and environmental education among the general public.

In his address, the Coordinator, Kano State field office Malam Lawal M. Lukman explained that, they were at the Commissioner office today to rejoice with him over his appointment and register their unwavering support and commitment to the ministry inline of the mandate of the agency to enforce all environmental laws, guidelines, standards and regulations in Nigeria among other functions.

The Coordinator further present some of the key issues militating against the smooth operation of the agency and seek for government intervention to address them.


Meanwhile in another development the commissioner also received Nigeria hunters and Forest security service under the leadership of Kano State Commander Abdullahi Al-Ameen who called on him in his office.
