The Kano State Refuse and Sanitation Management Board (REMASAB) under the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, has successfully evacuated over 80 trucks of waste accumulated at France Road in Sabon Gari, Fagge local government area.
The Deputy Managing Director REMASAB Alh Lamin Muktar Hassan who leads the operation at night Said government is committed to ensure clean and healthy environment for the overall socio economic development of the teeming populace.
Hassan lamented that unwholesome attitudes of some residents towards indiscriminate dumping of waste, especially now that we are at the period of raining season is the factor associated with this huge amount of waste that almost over take the route leading to the market.
He then charged them to desist for their own good to ensure waste free environment.
He reaffirmed state government's determination to continue to evacuate waste within Kano State metropolis for the well being of people in the state, and enjoined people to complement government efforts by desilting their drainage and dumping their waste at the designated site to avoid delay in evacuation, he added.
