Kano State Government has reiterated its determination to tap both human and material resources to improve internally generated revenue (IGR) for maximum benefit.
The Deputy Governor of the State Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo who is also the Commissioner Ministry for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs made the disclosure today at the four day sensitization workshop for integrated revenue administration and electronic Data Collection System for critical local government staff held in Kaduna State.
A Statement signed and made available to Iggnews by the Chief Information officer Ministry for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Dahiru Lawan K/Wambai hinted this.
Comrade Abdussalam pointed out that the workshop was designed to prepared and Sensitize the participants with modern technique on how best to improve revenue generation and electronic Data Collection at local government levels.
He further explained that the participants were carefully selected across the forty four local government areas of the state and enjoined them to explore their horizons to achieved the set target, he emphasis.
The Deputy Governor therefore urges local government staff to be more proactive and shun absenteeism and any act of questionable character, adding that the present administration would continue to paid unscheduled visit to local government areas with a view to boost their morales and ensure effective and efficient service delivery at the grassroots, he urged.
In his remarks the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Alh. Yusuf Datti Hussain lauds the Deputy Governor for his keen interest towards rejuvenating and reposition the local government areas to stand the test of time and expressed delight for the huge turnout at the workshop and pledged to put in practice what they have learned For speedy developments.
Chairmen of the local government areas, Members House of Assembly, Special Advisers and other top government functionaries were in attendance.
