In his effort to revive science and technology sector in order to be more beneficial to the society, Kano State Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Muhammad Tajo Othman said his ministry, in collaboration with Technology Incubation Center, Kano, will organize a workshop to train school dropout students in the state with aim to uplift their standard of living and make them more productive.
In a statement issued by Samira Baffa Hamza, Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Commissioner said the ministry will strategize and choose the most appropriate areas and organize a training to both females and males across the 44 local government areas in the state.
"This initiative will go in a long way in reducing the rate of poverty, it will uplift the living standards of the potential beneficiaries, boost self-reliance, and improve the revenue generation for the government," the Commissioner stressed.
Tajo emphasized that the ministry would also collaborate with the center in the areas of research, pointing out that nnovation will not be exercised without the use of research.
Speaking earlier, the Center Manager, Kabiru Umar GWARZO, said they were at the ministry to congratulate the Commissioner for his appointment as the Commissioner, adding that it is a clear testimony of his exalting leadership qualities and it indicated the high level of confidence and trust the people have on him. especially if his good track records, Youth and women empowerment scheme and other capacity developmental initiatives were taken into consideration.
He then urged the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to expand the center for efficient and effective service delivery.
